Billy Baron will transfer from Rhode Island, according to a Providence Journal report.

According to a report by the Providence Journal's Kevin McNamara, Rhode Island guard Billy Baron will transfer.

Baron started his career at Virginia, but transferred to the Rams to play under his father. Jim Baron, the longtime URI coach, was canned after last season, and Dan Hurley was hired to run the show.

The six-foot-two guard was one of the few bright spots for a URI squad that won just six games this past season. He averaged 13 points per game and chipped in 4.5 rebounds per contest.

McNamara said via Twitter that a destination was "unclear" at this point.
