Reporter Mike Sullivan provides a free look at Terry Harris, an improving prospect who competes for Half Hollow Hills West High School in Dix Hills, New York (located on Long Island) ...

Terry Harris, a 6-foot-6, 187-pound guard/forward from Half Hollow Hills West High School in Dix Hills, New York, has produced a solid AAU spring and expects to have an even better summer on the AAU circuit.

Harris recently produced 15 points, including a key three-pointer and also pulled down nine rebounds to lead the Unique All Stars (16 and under) past Atlantic Elite (from Illinois), 52-49, in a game played at the Boo Williams tournament (Virginia). He was needed to play the lead guard position after the starter in this role rolled over an ankle.

Harris previously produced five double/doubles in an event held in Baltimore, Maryland two weekends ago. He competed for the Unique All Stars, 16 and under team, helping them to the silver category championship game.

He averaged 13 points and 12 rebounds per contest during the tournament.

TERRY HARRIS' 2011-2012 REGULAR SEASON:

Harris recorded several double/doubles this year showing his impact on both ends of the floor, making progress on the defensive and offensive side of the ball. His quickness improved and his consistency in shooting the jumper made progress.

RECRUITING SITUATION:

Harris attended the Seton Hall-Pittsburgh basketball game held in New Jersey, according to his father, Torrel, Sr. "We had a very good time," said Mr. Harris. "It was a very informative meeting we had, too."

Terry also took an unofficial campus visit to Miami of Florida while his brother, Tyler, was playing in a game for NC State. Torrel, Sr., told us his son and the family came away impressed with the coaching staff and facilities.

Harris was also the guest of St. John's University at the Red Storm-Georgetown Big East basketball game held at Madison Square Garden.

TERRY HARRIS' SUMMER AND FALL:

Harris' best game came in New York City at the Joakim Noah tournament held in the borough of Queens. He ripped off 40 points in the contest and showed the ability to dominate a game with his offensive skills from many spots on the floor.

Terry is a member of the 2014 class and has a few seasons to improve physically and skill wise, making him an attractive division one prospect.

PREVIOUSLY REPORTED EARLY RECRUITING INTEREST:

Seton Hall, Virginia Tech, Miami of Florida, Tennessee, St. John's University, Rhode Island, Siena, Wisconsin, and Washington.
